Savoir-Faire Linux and Obeo united alongside with the Canadian Space Agency to advance science

Posted on in News

Obeo is part of the French delegation in Quebec, with more than 200 economic representatives, politicians, and academics of the Western region of France.

Objective: to promote closer economic and institutional relations between these both sides of Atlantic.

A lot has already been done and Obeo’s story is a good example of what is possible to make with our Quebecois friends. With some courage and a lot of collective (and vice versa!), we can achieve great successes!

By combining our expertise with the Canadian specialist free software, Savoir-Faire Linux (SFL), we managed to get more than the Moon :)

Following a call for tenders, our consortium has been selected by the Canadian Space Agency to develop a technology that enables remote control of rovers, robotic arms or scientific instruments. A great scientific breakthrough that will benefit to everyone through its Open Source implementation (see the complete press release). Watch the video on CTV Montreal:

This partnership has not gone unnoticed, and across the Atlantic as in France, the press has published several articles about it:

A beautiful story that is still in its infancy!
